Earlier, on February 26, after receiving the news that the male bear was more than 20 years old, weighing about 170 kg of Mrs. Le Thi Mai Thao's household (located in Gia Ray town, Xuan Loc district), she died abnormally. come for examination, take samples for testing to find the cause of death.

 

This is the last of the 4 bears raised by Mrs. Thao's family in less than a week. Each bear weighs 130-170kg.

 

The person directly caring for the bears said that after the Lunar New Year, the bears showed anorexia and died. According to Mr. Dung, the four above bears were voluntarily transferred by the owners to the authorities.

However, because the Center for Rescue, Conservation and Development of Creatures - Cat Tien National Park (Dong Nai) is in the repairing phase, these bears were assigned to Cuc Phuong National Park for reception. Unfortunately, while waiting for the handover, the bears died one after another. Also according to Mr. Dung, it is not clear the specific cause of the bears' death. After completing the examination, the functional force made a record of electronic chip withdrawal according to regulations.

 


 

According to statistics of the World Animal Protection Organization, Vietnam has less than 1,000 bears in captivity, down more than 3,000 compared to 2005-2006 (the time when the bear was mounted tracking chip).

 

The cause, in addition to propaganda to help reduce the consumption of bear bile, is also a part of the electronic bearer management chip program.

 

Particularly in Dong Nai, the bear farming population also decreased sharply, only less than 100 children. In particular, the Center for rescue, conservation and development of organisms - Cat Tien National Park is raising about 40 children.
