Ms. Bui Thi Ha, Director of Policy and Law Program of the Center for Nature Education (ENV) said: “The illegal transportation of brooding newspapers of Bui Van Mien has met the requirements of Clause 2, Article 244 of the PC 2017. Thus, if this subject does not have aggravating circumstances or reduced criminal liability, they may be subject to a penalty of 5 to 10 years in prison. ENV hopes that the competent authorities will effectively apply the 2017 Penal Code to give an appropriate judgment to the target to strictly deter those who are ambitious to make money from wildlife. ”
